A lapel pin is a small metal object worn on a jacket, a shirt or a bag, and it is a different product from a patch in almost every respect: different material, different manufacturing, different feel in the hand. People order them for the same reasons they order patches, which is why both are here, but they are not substitutes for each other.

Most lapel pin orders are recognition of some kind. A service award, a membership badge, a commemorative piece, a giveaway at a trade show. What those have in common is that the pin is given rather than sold, which changes the design priorities: it has to look like it was worth giving, and it usually has to be reproducible in a year when the next round of recipients comes along.

The design constraints are the ones you would expect from a small metal object. Fine detail has limits, small type has limits, and a mark that works at three inches in thread may need simplifying at an inch in metal. Yes, and for an award program you should plan for it. Tell us at the first order that it is ongoing and we will keep the references so a later batch matches rather than approximates.
Is there a minimum order?
No. A run of twenty five for a memorial or an anniversary is a real order. Small runs cost more per piece because the setup work is the same either way.
