Custom Leather Patches, Debossed, Engraved or Printed

A leather patch is a piece of hide or leatherette with your design worked into it rather than stitched on top of it. It suits cap fronts, jacket accents and name strips where the material itself is part of the look. We work in genuine leather and in leatherette, and the two behave differently enough that the choice is worth making deliberately rather than by price.

There are three ways to put a design on it. Debossing presses the artwork into the surface so the mark is felt as much as seen. Laser engraving burns it in, which gives a darker, more defined line and holds finer work. Full-color printing puts actual color on the material, which neither of the other two does. Genuine leather comes in six core colors, and the design usually reads as tone and depth rather than as color.

Genuine leather is a natural material and it does not arrive uniform. Grain, tone and the way the surface takes a deboss vary between hides and across a single hide, and that variation is part of what people are buying. If you need every piece to look identical, say so early, because leatherette is the more predictable answer. Send your artwork and the finished size, and the proof will show the technique, the material and the backing before anything is cut.
