Club colors are the hardest ordinary order we take, not because the artwork is difficult but because a three-piece set is three separately made pieces that have to read as one design once they are on a vest. Alignment, spacing and matching are the work. The artwork itself is usually the easy part.
Everything is sized from the garment, not from a chart. A vest back, a leather jacket back and a textile jacket back are three different areas, and the same set at the same width sits differently on each. Measure the flat panel between the seams on the actual garment, at the size most of your members wear, and send those numbers. A set cut for a large will not fit a small, and a set that fits neither is the most expensive mistake on this page.
Two things stay with the club. The artwork is yours and you confirm you are entitled to have it made. And every rule about who wears which piece, what a set contains and how it is arranged comes from your club rather than from us. We do not publish club rules, we do not advise on territory or protocol, and we do not decline or approve a design on that basis. We make what you specify.

These five cover almost every club order we take. The difference between them is whether the back is one piece or several, whether anything on the front has to match it, and whether a piece is new or a replacement.

Back Patches for Club Set Placement
A top rocker, a center piece and a bottom rocker, made separately and worn as one design. The top rocker is usually the widest piece, so its arc and letter height are set first and the bottom rocker follows the same curvature logic, framing the center evenly. The center piece is usually the most detailed artwork, and its size decides how much room the rockers have. The spacing between the pieces is as much a part of the layout as the pieces themselves, so we proof the whole set as one arrangement rather than quoting three items. Send the wording exactly as it should read, the back panel width between the seams, and the gaps you want, marked from a set laid out on a vest.

Back Patches for Single Vest Panels
One piece covering the back, with the artwork intact and no alignment to get wrong. It is simpler to apply and the design stays exactly as drawn. The tradeoff is that nothing can be replaced or added independently later, so if the back will grow, a set gives you room. At this scale the panel is sewn rather than pressed.

Name Patches for Rank and Name Strips
Small front pieces that have to look like they belong with the back: officer rank tags, probationary and status tags, chapter and position tags, member name strips and small emblem tags. Matching means the color references, the border finish and the letter height all agree, which is far easier to guarantee in one order than across two placed months apart. Titles vary in length, so the longest one on the club list sets the letter height for every tag; send the full list of roles the club uses, not only the ones changing hands now. Reducing a back emblem to tag size usually means simplifying fine detail, which we show on the proof. Where names vary across members, a different name on each costs no more than the same one repeated.

Vector Art Service for Replacement Artwork
Rockers wear, fray and get damaged long before the rest of a vest, and status tags are replaced when a stage of membership ends. A replacement is a matching job rather than a design job: send a photograph of the set as it is worn, a measurement of the piece being replaced and the wording. We match lettering, colors and edge finish to the pieces already on the vest as closely as the artwork and materials allow, and show you the proof before making it.

Memorial Patches for Club Tributes
One-off pieces marking the loss of a member, usually in small quantities and often needed to match something already on the garment. There is no minimum, so a run of ten is a real order. Send a photograph of the existing pieces alongside the artwork and we will match as closely as the materials allow.

A back panel as one piece
Large back panels are routine work here, and the figure shown is a reference point rather than a limit or a specification. What sets your number is the flat panel between the seams on the actual garment, measured at the size most of your members wear. Vests give you less room than jackets, and leather gives you less usable width than it appears to.
For a three-piece set, measure the whole area the arrangement will occupy, then decide the gaps before the pieces are sized. The rockers curve, so their width is measured across the chord rather than along the arc, and the center piece has to sit inside what is left. Send the panel height and width and we will size the set to them.
For heavy outlines and blocky lettering with thread texture, choose custom embroidered patches. For leather name strips and accent pieces on a vest, choose custom leather patches. For artwork illustrated or painted rather than drawn for thread, choose printed patches.

A club set goes wrong in three predictable ways, and every one of them is settled before production rather than discovered when the pieces are already on the vest and the stitching has started.
The garment, measured
We size to the flat panel between the seams on the garment your members actually wear. A number taken from another club's set or from a garment label is the most common reason a back piece arrives wrong.
The gaps, decided first
On a three-piece set the spacing between pieces is part of the design. We work from the finished arrangement with the gaps marked, so the pieces are sized to sit together rather than sized individually and hoped for.
Matching across orders
Front pieces added later have to agree with the back in color reference, border finish and letter height. We hold those references so a name strip made next year matches the back panel made this year.

How It Compares
vs. One piece or three
A single panel keeps the artwork whole and removes every alignment problem, which makes it the simpler order and the easier application. A three-piece set is the traditional arrangement and it lets pieces be replaced or added independently. The cost is real alignment work on the garment. Neither is more correct; it depends on what the back has to do over time.

vs. Printed instead of embroidered
Club artwork is often painted or illustrated, and rebuilding that in thread loses much of what makes it distinctive. Printing reproduces the original illustration directly, at a fraction of the weight of a fully covered embroidered panel. Embroidery gives thread texture and the traditional look. Which one suits depends entirely on how the artwork was drawn.
