Custom veteran patches are ordered by associations, reunion committees and families rather than by serving units, and that changes the job. The design usually exists already, often only as a worn patch, a photograph or somebody memory of how it looked. The run is small, the deadline is a reunion date, and the piece has to look like the one people remember wearing.
So most of this work is reproduction rather than design. We redraw an old emblem by hand instead of tracing it automatically, keep the character of the original and clean it up enough to reproduce at the size you want. You approve the redraw before anything is made, which matters when the people who wore the original are the ones who will judge it.
Reunion runs, anniversary pieces and association patches are all the same kind of order: a fixed date, a modest quantity and artwork that has to be right the first time. Send whatever survives, including photographs of a patch still on a jacket, and we will tell you plainly what can be recovered from it and what has to be redrawn from scratch.
Two limits stay in place, and they are the ones the military patches page states. You confirm the association or unit is entitled to have the design made, and we make no claim of approval, compliance or certification on anyone behalf. What we promise is an honest redraw, a proof before production, and a small run treated like any other order.

A run made for a specific gathering, usually with a year or an anniversary number added to an emblem people already know. Quantities are modest and the date is fixed, so the artwork decision matters more than the production one. Send the emblem and the wording early, because a redraw is where the time goes.

The emblem an association uses year after year, ordered in batches as membership changes. Because it is reordered, the first run sets the references for every later one: the colors, the border finish and the finished size. Keep the approved proof, and later batches are matched to it rather than to a photograph of a worn patch.

Redraw approved before production
The number that matters on a veteran order is one: the single redraw you approve before anything is produced. Everything else follows it. The emblem is rebuilt from whatever reference survives, shown to you at the finished size, and only made once you agree it is the design people will recognise on the day.
Dimensions come from where the patch is worn, usually a jacket, a vest or a cap. Measure the space, tell us the wording exactly as it should read, and send every reference you have, including photographs of the original on a garment. Where a detail cannot be recovered, we tell you at proof stage rather than inventing something plausible.
For the traditional look most associations want, choose stitched association emblems. Where an emblem carries fine type at a small size, choose woven detail for small lettering.
How old artwork is handled
Three rules behind the veteran patches we reproduce
Reproduction work carries a risk that new design does not: getting it almost right. These three rules are how we keep a reproduced emblem honest to the original and honest about what we could not recover.
Redrawn, never traced
Automatic tracing turns a worn patch into wobbly outlines and blurred lettering. We redraw by hand from the references you send, which keeps the character of the original while producing artwork that reproduces cleanly at your size.
Gaps are flagged, not filled
Where a detail is missing from every reference you have, we tell you and ask, rather than inventing something that looks plausible. An association will notice an invented element long before it notices a slightly different thread color.
Entitlement stays with you
You confirm the association or unit is entitled to have the design made. We make no claim of approval, compliance or certification, and we decline artwork that appears unlawful or misrepresented in any way. If you are unsure what you are entitled to reproduce, send the documentation you have and we will tell you plainly what we can build from it.
